Workplace Essentials Courses

The professional courses are built around a core of job specific knowledge and skills subject matter. The following are examples of topics participants will be introduced to and learn in the Workplace Essentials curriculum:

  • Non Verbal Communication – how to project appropriate message with non-verbal cues as well as why people interpret the same messages differently.
  • Motivation - motivated employees help organization survive and thrive.  To create this more productive environment, each person must understand what drives them, how to tap into their own motivation, and how to create an environment of motivation for those around them.
  • Work-life balance skills – in order to better manage projects and relationships.  Outcomes for the individual are more control by giving them value and balance in their professional and personal lives. 
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making - An awareness of how decisions are made and what prompts groups (teams) to move in particular directions is critical to effectiveness.  If an understanding of the decision process can be mastered, then individuals as well as groups are better prepared for managing the process and moving decisions forward.
  • Priority Management Skills - These skills are the practical techniques which have helped individuals in all industries and sectors to reach the pinnacle of their success.  Without effective prioritization and task management, time manages us.  By understanding what to put into one’s time, one has the highest likelihood of success.
  • Conflict Management - Good Conflict Resolution builds stronger and more cohesive relationships and more rewarding workplace experiences. This specific process for managing conflict helps build confidence as well as results for participants.
  • Team Building - Participants will learn the why and the how of team building as well as the systematic process of a team.   This section prepares participants to be better team members as well as team leaders.
  • Coaching - Coaching enables a person to propel others in the right direction, reinforce good behaviors, and proactively eliminate bad behaviors.  This daily process of knowing and evaluating one’s self as well as others creates the habit of continuous improvement.
