Educational Grants

Grants are monetary awards that the student does not have to repay. (If you withdraw before you complete over 60% of your enrollment period or receive all F's, you may owe a Federal refund. More information is available in the Financial Aid Office.)

To apply for these grants, you must complete the FAFSA and have a declared major. If you should drop a class or withdraw from school, a repayment of some or all of your grant(s) may be required.

FEDERAL PELL GRANT
is a federally funded program for undergraduate students obtaining their first bachelor's degree. Funds are awarded to students who demonstrate financial need and who meet federal eligibility requirements. The award amount is based on expected family contribution, the cost of education at WTC and the number of hours enrolled. Students enrolled less than half time may qualify for some grants. Pell is the foundation of financial aid and serves as the starting point in the aid process.

FEDERAL SUPPLEMENTAL EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY GRANT (SEOG)
is a federally funded program established to help students with exceptional need. The amount received may vary depending on availability of funds and documented need.

TEXAS PUBLIC EDUCATION GRANT (TPEG)
