ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

International Applicants should submit the documents listed below along with the application fee.

1.  Application for Admission

Complete and submit the Application for Admission.

2.  Passport Copy

Submit a copy of the biographical page of the passport.

3.  $100 Application Fee (non-refundable)

4.  International Transcript Requirement

Applicants who attended a high school or college outside the United States must have their academic records evaluated by InCred, Western Texas College’s approved international credential evaluation service.

If documents are not in English, applicant-provided certified English translations are required. Both the original documents and the certified translations must be submitted directly to InCred. The completed evaluation must then be sent to Western Texas College.

Applicants are also required to bring their official high school documents with them upon arrival on campus.

Applications are not considered complete until the evaluation is received. A waiver of the application fee will be issued once InCred has approved the submitted documents.

U.S. High School or U.S. College Transcripts-Must be sent by the school to WTC's registrar's office.

If you have graduated from a U.S. high school or attended a U.S. college, please contact the institution that awarded your diploma or issued your official transcripts.

If you received a diploma from a U.S. high school, you must also provide your final graduation date.

Many high schools now offer online transcript request services—please check with your school for available options.

5.  Proof of English Proficiency

Western Texas College accepts both the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and the Duolingo English Test (DET). Official TOEFL or DET scores must be submitted and should be sent directly to Western Texas College. For the TOEFL, please use the institution code of 6951. Please reference the chart below to see the requirements needed for admission.

6.  Exemptions

  • Students who have achieved a grade of B or better in a college-level English composition course in residence at an accredited U.S. college.

  • Students who have successfully completed at least one academic year of study at an accredited high school in the U.S.

7.  Residence and Dining Service Application

8.  Housing Deposit of US $250.00

Pay the housing deposit of US 250.00.

9.  Insurance Requirement

All students must provide documentary proof of medical and accident insurance coverage. The insurance policy must include coverage for:

  • Medical treatment

  • Accidents

  • Medical Evacuation

  • Repatriation of remains

The documentation must be in English.

11.  Immunization Records

Scan and email copies of all immunization records since birth. Records must include a visible name on the document. The bacterial meningitis vaccine is required in Texas for students under the age of 22 and must be received within the last five years. If you have not had the bacterial meningitis vaccine, please contact the International Student Services Director for more information. There are many types of meningitis vaccines available, and these vary from country to country. The Meningococcal ACWY (MenACWY) vaccine protects against four types of meningococcal bacteria (A, C, W, and Y) that can cause meningitis. In addition, all international students must have a Tuberculosis (TB) skin test and must submit the results of the test. 

12.  Verification of Financial Support

Students must verify that they will have sufficient funds available to pay educational, living, and other expenses while they are studying at WTC. The estimated cost for the 2025-2026 academic year is US $16,640.00. (*This amount may be different for students on athletic scholarships.) The estimate includes tuition, fees, books/supplies, and insurance for one academic year of study (nine months) and living expenses for one year. The Verification of Financial Support form must be completed and signed by the student and his/her sponsor, and official documentary evidence of the availability of funds must be attached

13.  Transfer Students

Students transferring in from another college or university should complete all of the requirements above and will also need to complete the Transfer Form. A copy of the F-1 visa, the most current I-20, and the unexpired I-94 should be emailed, as well.
